Recipe 29- Pitoules NAANdinoules


Today i will give you my own recipe for a butter garlic bread similar to naan (indian bread).

Ingredients

1/2 cup warm water
1 teaspoon dry yeast
3 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 egg beaten
1 tablespoon milk
1/2 cup butter

In a large bowl mix the water with sugar, then add the yeast. Add the milk, salt, garlic salt and egg. Now gradually add the flour and start kneading until you have a smooth dough. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise for 1 hour.
Preheat the oven at HI grill. Take small balls of dough, place them on a floured surface and roll them with your hands until round and thin. Place them on a baking sheet and brush some butter on top. Bake for 3 min, then turn to bake the other side again for 3 min.
If you want you can brush butter on both sides.

Recipe 28- Nadine's Pretzels

Good morning.

Here is a special recipe for pretzels.

Ingredients

3 1/2 cups flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dry yeast
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup water warm
1 egg beaten (only the yolk)

Mix the water, sugar and yeast. Gradually add the flour, salt and oil. Kneed the dough until smooth. Cover and let rise in a preheated oven for 40 min.
Divide dough into equal pieces. Roll each into a 50cm rope. Shape into pretzels. Place on baking sheets. Brush the pretzels with the egg yolk. Sprinkle with coarse salt if you like.
Bake at 375F (190C) for 15 min.

Recipe 27- Home made MAYONNAISE

Good morning!
Got tired of the typical mayonnaise in the jar which is full of artificial flavorings and conservatives?

Here is a simple solution, much healthier, super tasty and WITHOUT eggs, so is extra safe!

Ingredients

1 cup condensed milk
1 cup olive oil
juice from 1 lemon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon mustard

Put the ingredients in a blender. Press the button..and blend!
Now you have the most delicious mayonnaise ever!

Recipe 26- Nadine's Beef STIFADO

Hello.
Here is a typical greek recipe for cooking beef.

Ingredients

800 gr beef cut in cubes
1 kg onions
4 tomatoes
1/2 cup red wine
1/2 cup vinegar
1 cup olive oil
2 bay leaves
salt/pepper to taste

Put a little bit of the oil in a large pan and heat over medium high temperature. Put the beef and cook for 5 min. Add the tomatoes and mix well. After 5 min put the onions and cook for another 5 min.
Pour in the wine, bay leaves and the rest of oil. If you want to can add 1-2 cups of water too. Bring them to boil and cook for 2 hours at low temperature. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Your STIFADO is ready!

Recipe 25- Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Yes today i will give you my famous recipe!


Ingredients
2 cups flour
3/4 cup cocoa powder (i use HERSHEY'S)
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup melted butter
2/3 cup white sugar
2/3 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extact
2 eggs
1/2 cup chocolate chunks (HERSHEY'S)

Preheat oven to 350F (180C)
Mix flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt in a bowl. In another large bowl beat butter,sugar,vanilla. Add the eggs. Gradually beat in the flour mix. stir in the chunks. Place large drops of mix onto a greased baking pan or use baking sheet.
Bake for 10 min.

Recipe 24- Nadine's Pasta Flora


This is a fabulous greek dessert.

Ingredients

250 gr melted butter
500 gr flour
250 gr sugar      
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 eggs
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
500 gr strawberry jam

In a big bowl mix all ingredients EXCEPT of the jam and 1 egg.
Preheat the oven at 355F (180C). Grease a baking pan 26 cm and place inside 2/3 of the mix. Add the jam. Roll out the remaining mix and cut into strips. Place on top in a criss-cross pattern.
Bake for about 1 hour or until golden brown.

Recipe 23- Cheese pie PEPEKI from Argiro

Hi there. Today we have a cheese pie called PEPEKI.

This recipe is from Argiro Barbarigou and it is very simple and delicious!

Ingredients
200gr flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 eggs
2 cups full fat yogurt
1/4 cup olive oil
1 teaspoon red pepper-paprika
300 gr FETA cheese shredded

In a large bowl mix the eggs, yogurt, oil and pepper. Add the cheese. Gradually add the flour mixed with baking powder.
Preheat the oven at 355F (180C). Grease a baking pan 36cm and sprinkle some flour. Pour in the mix and bake it for 45 min or until light brown.
